Protestant Cay is a very small island located in Christiansted Harbor on St. Croix. The island is home to the Hotel on the Cay, the Protestant Cay Beach, and a beachside restaurant and bar. A ferry takes you the short distance from the Christiansted boardwalk to Protestant Cay. The trip takes around two minutes one way.
Protestant Cay Ferry Location
The ferry to Protestant Cay departs from the Christiansted boardwalk, in the vicinity of the King Christian Hotel. Look for the ferry sign.
Schedule
The ferry to Protestant Cay generally operates every 10 minutes from 7:00 a.m. until midnight, as needed. Hotel on the Cay guests needing transportation outside of those hours will need to contact the hotel for assistance.
Ferry Rates
The ferry is complimentary for all registered hotel guests. For non-guests, the ferry fee is $5 round trip, which is payable at the small dockmaster booth once on Protestant Cay.
Note: The Hotel on the Cay came under new ownership in November 2022. Renovations, expansions, and changes are expected in the future.
